  お尋ねしたいのですが、ニューヨークのパーティでお会いしませんでしたか？

*supposeは、thinkよりもトーンが柔らかくなります。

  もしかしたらと思ったのですが、この絵画は15世紀のものではありませんか？

*このcouldは｢～してもよい、～できる｣という意味です。
 
 
英会話ポイント

予定や事実を確認する際に使える丁寧な表現です。I have to askは、｢すみませんが、(どうしても)確認させて頂きたいのです。｣というニュアンス。とても丁寧な印象を相手に与えます。isn’t this ～？(～ではありませんか？)のような否定疑問文は、上品に確認する際の定番表現です。

又、mightが使われている文は、断言を避け柔らかな印象を与える効果があります。If it’s too much trouble..は If it’s not too much trouble… と混同しないように注意しましょう。どちらも同じ｢気使い表現｣、前者は｢もし、ご迷惑なようでしたら(～するのをやめましょうか？)｣という意味に対し、後者は｢もしご面倒でなければ(～してほしいのですが）｣という、全く反対の意味です。
