Using ”Verb + ing” vs ”Verb + to”
Read some of the sentences below and try to understand in which situations they are used correctly or incorrectly.
Examples of how "Verb + ing" is used:
Read the following to understand the correct and incorrect usage:

I wish that dog would stop barking. It’s driving me mad.
I wish that dog would stop to bark. It’s driving me mad.

Note: Verbs usually followed by "-ING" include: avoid, consider, deny, enjoy, finish, imagine,

keep(on), mind, postpone, risk, stop, suggest, recommend, etc…
 
Examples of how "Verb + to" is used:
