Tanaka san and John are discussing the status of an order they have received from a customer.

 
Tanaka:

Are there any hitches regarding our deal with Xfactor corporation? When will the purchase order come through? 18.1
田中：

Xfactor会社から私たちの契約に関して引っ掛かることはあるかい？　いつ注文を頂けそうかな？
 
John:

Well, no promises but it looks good. We need to jump through one more hoop.
ジョン: ええ、約束は出来ませんが大丈夫そうです。もう１つの難題と取り組まなければいけません。
 
Tanaka:

Oh, what’s the hold up? 　
田中: え、何が注文を止めているんだい？
   
John:

I’m laying the groundwork for the order but it seems there is a slight change in their order.

ジョン: 注文品の準備を進めていますが、どうやら取引先の注文内容が変更になるみたいです。
   
Tanaka:

I see. What happened? I hope there are no issues on our side. 28.6

 
田中: そうですか、どうしたのですか？当社側の問題でないといいのですが。
   
John:

They mentioned that their budget had been drastically slashed for the upcoming fiscal year which is why they are looking to get a discount if at all possible.

ジョン: 取引先が今年度の予算を大幅に削減されたようで、注文の割引もできる限り希望しているみたいです。
   
Tanaka: It’s out of the question. The prices we offered them was absolutely rock bottom.　
田中: それは問題外です。提案して金額はどう考えても最安値です。
   
John:

They also mentioned an alternative would be to trim down their first order. That could mean anything from a 20% to even 40% reduction.

ジョン: また取引先の提案は、初回の発注数を削る事みたいです。つまり2割から最高で4割の削減が考えられます。
   
Tanaka: This order is very important to us John. We can’t make our numbers this year without it.
田中: この注文は会社にとってとても重要です。この注文なしでは今年のノルマを達成できません。
   
John:

I know. I know. I think they are just playing hardball. I have confidence I can close this deal if I offer a 2% discount if they commit to order more from us next year.

ジョン: ジョン:もちろんわかっています。取引先は厳しい要求を求めてきていますが、来年の注文量を増やすとの約束が取れれば、彼らに2割の割引で注文を同意してくれるはずです。
   
Tanaka:

Well, keep me in the loop with any new developments.

田中: そうですか。何か新しい動きがあれば必ず伝えて下さい。
